2 Days in Bangkok

Sin City of East

Immigration: Thailand has one of the most visitor friendly visa regimes and grants visa on arrival to a number of nationalities including Indian.
You should have your passport with at-least 2 blank pages, a photograph and THB 2000 (normal)/2200 (express). Fill up a form and submit it along with the above to the Thai immigration officer. Depending on the queue and your option you should get the visa in 30 min to 1.5 hrs.
Normally this is a single entry visa valid for 14 days.

Airport to City: The most cost effective way to travel to Bangkok downtown from the Suvrnabhumi airport is the metro. It from from around 6:00 am till 00:00 in the midnight. There are clear markings to the metro station which is within the airport complex at the a few escalators down. You must have THB to but the tickets. Also get the Explore Bangkok BTS & MRT app from Google play store. It is quite handy.

Stay: There are a lot of stay options in Bangkok with most of the international brands having a property here.

Tip: However, if you are travelling on a tight budget and fine with a dormitory I can recommend The REZT. It is listed on booking.com and other aggregation websites in case you would like to book in advance. The hotel is at a 10 min walking distance from the Phet Chaburi MRT or Asok/Phrom Pong BTS. The bunk bed has an attached locker and they also provide a larger locker where you can put your other bag. The rooms and other common facilities are well maintained.

Options:

- Monuments: Bangkok has a number of attractive temples and palaces. Some of the most famous ones and with easy public transport connectivity being: Wat Arun, Wat Pho among the temples and the Thai Royal Palace.

Tip: You can use a combination of MRT and BTS, the ferry on Chao Praya river and bit of walking to cover all the below attraction very cost efficiently.

Wat Pho: Temple of reclining Buddha

Wat Arun

Thai Royal Palace

- Night life: Some of the the most famous ones are Soi Cowboy, Nana plaza and Patpong. The Alley in which Retz is located also has pretty good adult massage parlors.

Tip: You can buy day pass or get a card for the BTS or MRT. However remember, that these are two separate services and the card are not inter-operable. Based on your stay location you could buy one of these as well.
